It’s with a mixture of immense gratitude and bittersweetness that I share some news. After three and a half wonderful years, the curtain is closing on “Megan’s View of the Room.” Since the very first post, this blog has been a true labor of love, and I’m honestly not sure where the time has gone! I want to sincerely thank every single one of you who clicked, read, and shared these stories. Your readership has made this journey meaningful, and for that, I am truly thankful.
A great story is nothing without its characters; the true heart of this blog has always been the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking to. Writing these pieces allowed me to sit down and celebrate the passion of many amazing Artcraft volunteers, patrons, staff, and friends. It has also been incredible to uncover the Artcraft’s history and the countless stories that a theatre accumulates over 100 years. To everyone who let me tell their stories—thank you! Getting to know you and documenting your commitment to this historic theatre has been a profound privilege and has enriched my own life in ways I never could have imagined when I started. It is your dedication and the vibrant community we share that I will always treasure. Though my time with this blog is coming to an end, we can all stay connected to the magic of the Artcraft in so many ways. The theatre has an exciting lineup for the rest of the year, including amazing events and movies for you to enjoy! To keep the conversation going, I encourage you to tune into The Moving Pictures Podcast hosted by my husband, Caleb Clements. It’s a fantastic monthly podcast in which Caleb chats about the monthly movie and event offerings at the theatre and recommends at-home viewing titles, too. You can also find the Artcraft on Letterboxd where the Theatre’s teenage film critic, Nolen, will be writing his reviews throughout the year! From a writer, to the lovely Artcraft community, this is Megan Elaine, signing off!
