This position works directly under the Director of Events $15 starting pay/401K, paid holidays, generous paid time off package
Duties Include: Scheduling field trips with local schools; maintain relationships with local schools. Ordering concessions/supplies. Ensuring that chairs, tables, and lobby equipment are set up to meet the client’s needs and the facility’s lease requirements; explaining policies and procedures to client tenants and the general public; settling sales with tenants; opening and securing the facility before and after events; completing all necessary event paperwork and keeping event management up-to-date. Maintaining relationships with clients, local community organizations, and supporters. This position requires extensive face-to-face customer service and problem-solving.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, proactive, and detail-orientated and must have the ability to accept responsibility, quickly make decisions, and work in a fast-paced, high-volume atmosphere. Every day is different! Hours: Full Time. Times Vary. Based upon rental bookings. Must be able to work in December. Events Assistant must be available to work irregular hours, shifts, weekends, and evenings.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.
The ability to lift up to 50lbs required.
Must be able to move/set up tables/chairs/equipment alone.
Must be accessible by cell phone, texting, and email.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience coordinating a variety of events and activities at a theater, live music venue, collegiate entertainment facility, or other large public use or entertainment facility preferred
Knowledge of food handling best practices and alcohol licensing requirements
Knowledge of Indiana gaming laws
Knowledge, ability to learn Quickbooks
Experience supervising work teams
Crowd management experience
Some college level course work, in a related field
Basic CPR/AED training
Flexibility to work with a mostly volunteer support team
